Bajaj Pulsar NS400Z Updated in India: New 349cc Engine Replaces 373cc Unit

The Bajaj Pulsar NS400Z has been updated with a new 349cc engine, as Bajaj adjusts its lineup to sit below the 350cc mark in response to the revised GST structure introduced from April 1, 2026.

With this change, the NS400Z now produces 40bhp at 9,000rpm and 33.2Nm at 7,500rpm. That’s slightly lower than before, marking a drop of 2.4bhp and 1.8Nm compared to the earlier 373cc unit.

The mechanical revision goes deeper than just numbers—Bajaj has retained the 89mm bore but reduced the stroke from 60mm to 56.1mm, a move that typically shifts the engine’s character towards higher-rev performance. This is likely the same revised engine as seen on the new 350cc Bajaj Dominar 400.

Beyond the engine, nothing else has changed. The NS400Z retains its perimeter frame, USD forks, and monoshock setup, along with 17-inch alloys and a 320mm/230mm disc brake combination with dual-channel ABS.

The pricing continues to remain the same. It is listed at INR 1,93,900 (ex-showroom), which keeps the NS400Z firmly positioned as a value-heavy option in the segment, even with the slight dip in output.

Bajaj Auto has already revised the 400cc lineups for both KTM and Triumph in the Indian market.
