The Deepal electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) flying taxi has been unveiled at the NADA Auto Show 2025, quickly becoming the event’s most talked-about showcase and its undeniable showstopper.
With this debut, MAW Vriddhi Autocorp has become the first company in Nepal to publicly display a flying car, offering visitors a glimpse into the future of urban mobility.

The Deepal eVTOL represents a significant milestone for Nepal’s automotive and urban air mobility sector. The aircraft combines electric propulsion, vertical take-off and landing capability, and advanced safety systems, aiming to redefine personal and urban transportation. It follows global trends where flying vehicles are no longer just futuristic concepts but are gradually entering commercial and public demonstration stages.

The technology has roots in a strategic partnership between Urban Air Mobility pioneer EHang and Changan Automobile, formalized on December 21, 2024. The collaboration focuses on the research, development, production, sales, and operation of next-generation flying vehicles, including eVTOL aircraft and amphibious air-land mobility solutions.

While Changan contributes its extensive R&D expertise, mature supply chain, and market reach, EHang brings its leadership in autonomous flying technology, having launched the world’s first autonomous passenger-carrying eVTOL.
The ultimate goal of the partnership is to make eVTOLs accessible to the broader public, moving beyond the concept of flying cars as luxury gadgets for a select few.
The Deepal eVTOL at NADA 2025 highlights how Nepal is beginning to engage with next-generation urban mobility solutions, offering attendees a first-hand look at technologies that could transform transportation in the near future.
