Arcfox Alpha T7 Could Be Arcfox’s Next New Product for Nepal

Arcfox could have another interesting electric SUV in line for the Nepalese market, and the Arcfox Alpha T7 could be the brand's next new product here, according to our assessment.

The BAIC Group-owned electric vehicle brand is launching the Alpha T7 in China on September 16. While there is no official confirmation that the model is coming to Nepal, its positioning, specifications and Arcfox's growing product presence in the country make the Alpha T7 a model worth watching.

The possibility becomes more interesting following the recent arrival of the Arcfox T1 in Nepal, which has given the brand a new offering in the compact electric crossover segment.

The Arcfox T1 is currently priced at Rs 35.96 lakh for the LV2 and Rs 37.96 lakh for the LV3 in Nepal. Positioned as a compact electric crossover, the T1 combines hatchback practicality with SUV-inspired styling. It measures 4,337 mm in length, 1,850 mm in width and 1,573 mm in height, with a 2,750 mm wheelbase.

It is powered by a front-mounted permanent-magnet synchronous motor producing 95 kW (127 PS) and 176 Nm of torque. A 42.3 kWh LFP battery provides a claimed CLTC range of up to 425 km.

The T1 also offers Level 2 ADAS and a range of active and passive safety technologies.While the T1 targets a relatively accessible part of Nepal's EV market, the Alpha T7 would be a considerably larger and more premium proposition.

In China, the Alpha T7 is positioned as a mid-to-large SUV and is offered in nine rear-wheel-drive variants, including five battery-electric and four extended-range versions.

The SUV measures 5,020 mm in length and has a 3,040 mm wheelbase. It features a coupe-style SUV design and offers 645 litres of boot space, expanding to 1,845 litres with the rear seats folded.

Pre-sales began in China on August 26, with prices ranging from 137,800 yuan to 174,800 yuan after subsidies. Arcfox has reportedly said orders crossed 30,000 within 72 hours of pre-sales opening.

The pure-electric versions use an 800V platform and a 227 kW electric motor. The entry-level 650 Plus gets a 75.4 kWh battery and a claimed CLTC range of 650 km, while higher variants use an 84.8 kWh battery and offer up to 715 km of claimed range.

The extended-range versions pair a 1.5-litre range extender with a 200 kW electric motor and 43.9 kWh battery. These versions offer a claimed 320 km electric-only range and a combined CLTC range of up to 1,315 km.

Selected Alpha T7 variants will feature Huawei Qiankun ADS 5 Pro, supported by 27 sensors, including a concealed LiDAR.  The system is not standard across the entire range. Four Qiankun variants receive ADS 5 Pro and a cabin-mounted LiDAR, while some other versions use BAIC's Yuanjing driver-assistance system with roof-mounted LiDAR.

The Alpha T7 also uses CATL battery cells, while Magna has been involved in chassis tuning. CDC continuously variable damping is also available. This is where the Alpha T7 becomes particularly interesting for Nepal.

Arcfox has not announced the Alpha T7 for Nepal, and there is no confirmation from the local distributor at this point. However, based on the brand's recent expansion with the T1, we believe the Alpha T7 is a model that could potentially be considered for the Nepalese market.

If introduced here, it would give Arcfox a product positioned well above the T1 in terms of size, performance, range and technology. Its 800V architecture, large battery options, long claimed range and available Huawei ADAS could also make it a strong contender in Nepal's increasingly competitive premium EV SUV segment.
