Shangrila Motors, the authorized distributor of Leapmotor vehicles in Nepal, has offered a first look at the upcoming Leapmotor B10 during a preview event at its Uttardhoka showroom on July 30.
The event, held ahead of the vehicle’s official launch at the Nepal Mobility Expo next week, drew a small group of automotive journalists and industry observers.
The B10, a mid-size electric compact SUV from the Chinese EV manufacturer, marks Leapmotor’s entry into the Nepali electric vehicle market. It comes equipped with a 67.1 kWh battery pack and delivers a WLTP-rated range of 460 kilometers. A single 160 kW motor powers the car, and it has earned a 5-star safety rating from Euro NCAP, a factor that may appeal to buyers concerned with occupant protection.
While the vehicle is yet to be officially launched, Shangrila Motors confirmed that the Leapmotor B10 will be formally unveiled at the NAIMA Nepal Mobility Expo 2025, scheduled for August 6–10 at Bhrikutimandap, Kathmandu. Pricing details will be announced at the event, though company representatives indicated it will likely be under NPR 60 lakhs.
The B10’s arrival comes amid growing interest in electric vehicles across Nepal, driven in part by rising fuel costs and supportive government policies. Shangrila Motors, which also distributes Peugeot and Citroën, is among several companies expanding their EV portfolios in response to this shift.
Though early impressions suggest the B10 could be a competitive entrant in its segment, broader consumer response will depend on factors such as final pricing, after-sales support, and performance in Nepal’s varied road conditions. More information is expected to be available following the official launch at the expo.
