Nepal-Bound Ather Rizta Electric Scooter Achieves 1 Lakh Sales Milestone in India

Ather Energy’s family-oriented electric scooter, the Rizta, has surpassed 1 lakh unit sales in India within a year of its debut. Unveiled in April 2024 and launched in June 2024, the Rizta has quickly become a major contributor to Ather’s growth, now accounting for nearly 60% of the company’s total sales.

Designed for families, the Rizta blends practicality with modern features. It offers 56 litres of under-seat storage, a wide seat, a spacious floorboard, and advanced safety and connectivity technologies.

Key features include SkidControl traction control, Tow & Theft Alerts, Emergency Stop Signal, live location sharing, and onboard Google Maps navigation—powered by the AtherStack 6 system.

Commenting on the milestone, Ravneet Phokela, Chief Business Officer, Ather Energy, said, “Hitting the 1 lakh milestone with the Rizta is a big moment for us. The Rizta, which was built from the ground up with a focus on addressing the needs of Indian families, has played a key role in expanding our reach and connecting with a much wider set of customers.

In India, the Rizta is available in two variants. The Rizta S comes with a 2.9kWh battery offering a true range of 105 km. The Rizta Z is offered with either a 2.9kWh or 3.7kWh battery, the latter delivering a range of up to 125 km. All variants feature an IP67-rated battery and a five-year/60,000 km warranty.

Bookings for the Rizta are now open in Nepal through Vaidya Energy, Ather’s official distributor in the country.
