Chery is on track to make history later this month by becoming the first Chinese car manufacturer to export more than 5 million vehicles.
The announcement was made at the Hong Kong Auto Show, where the company reported exporting approximately 440,000 vehicles between January and May, solidifying its position as China’s leading auto exporter.
According to Chery, it has held the title of the top exporter of Chinese-branded passenger cars for 22 consecutive years. The company’s global reach now extends to nearly 120 countries and regions.
At the Hong Kong event, Chery presented 12 models across its various sub-brands, including Chery, Exeed, Jetour, iCAR, Luxeed, Omoda & Jaecoo, and Jetour Global, spanning multiple categories such as battery electric vehicles (BEVs), plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs), and extended-range electric vehicles (EREVs).
As one of the country’s major automotive players, Chery achieved record sales in 2024, delivering 2,603,916 vehicles. For the first time, the company’s annual revenue also surpassed RMB 480 billion (approximately $67 billion), according to figures released on January 1.
