Bengaluru-based Ultraviolette Automotive has introduced the new VX-100 platform alongside the launch of the X-47 Venom electric motorcycle. The latest iteration of the X-47 Crossover brings a larger battery option, improved range, reduced weight and additional rider-assistance technology.
The X-47 Venom is the first motorcycle to be built on Ultraviolette’s new VX-100 architecture, which brings upgrades to the battery, electric motor and motor controller. The motorcycle is available with 7.5kWh and 11kWh battery options, with introductory prices ranging from Rs 2.65 lakh to Rs 4.12 lakh, ex-showroom, Bengaluru.
One of the key upgrades to the Ultraviolette X-47 Venom is its improved battery capacity and claimed riding range. The base variant comes with a 7.5kWh battery and offers a claimed range of 227km, while the top-spec Recon variant features an 11kWh battery with a claimed range of 343km.
The updated model also weighs less than its predecessor. The 7.5kWh variant tips the scales at 180kg, which is 17kg lighter than the previous X-47 equipped with a 7kWh battery. Meanwhile, the 11kWh Recon variant weighs 195kg, a reduction of 13kg compared with the outgoing model.

Ultraviolette says the new VX-100 platform improves the thermal management and efficiency of the battery, motor and motor controller. The changes are also claimed to improve sustained performance and regenerative braking.
The motorcycle's Ballistic riding mode, its highest-performance setting, can now be used until the battery charge drops to 10 per cent, compared with 30 per cent previously. Regenerative braking is available at battery charge levels of up to 99 per cent, compared with 90 per cent on the earlier model.
The X-47 Venom is powered by a 30kW electric motor producing a claimed 39.5bhp and 550Nm of torque at the rear wheel. Ultraviolette claims a 0-60kph acceleration time of 2.7 seconds and a 0-100kph time of 5.9 seconds. The motorcycle has a claimed top speed of 155kph.

Despite marginal changes to its power and torque figures compared with the previous Recon variant, the new model's lower weight contributes to its claimed acceleration performance.
The motorcycle receives several new features, including cruise control, camera-based parking assistance and a larger 7-inch TFT touchscreen display. These features are available on the top three variants.
The display, called UV Interface X, supports onboard navigation through Mappls, smartphone connectivity and software updates. The motorcycle also features Violette A.I., which Ultraviolette describes as a smart co-pilot for riding and parked situations.
Other equipment includes dual-channel ABS, traction control and dynamic stability control. Higher variants also get the UV Hypersense rider-assistance system, which uses a 77GHz rear radar to provide blind-spot monitoring, lane-change assistance, overtake alerts and rear-collision warnings.

An integrated dashcam is also available on select variants, while the camera-based parking assistance system is designed to help riders manoeuvre the motorcycle in confined spaces.
The X-47 Venom supports DC fast charging at up to 12kW and features an onboard charger. With the standard portable charger, a 20-80 per cent charge takes approximately five hours and 30 minutes.
The motorcycle retains its steel trellis frame, along with the existing suspension and braking hardware. It gets a 320mm front disc and a 230mm rear disc, while suspension duties are handled by a 41mm preload-adjustable upside-down front fork and a preload-adjustable rear monoshock.
The dimensions remain unchanged, with an 820mm seat height, 200mm ground clearance and a 1,385mm wheelbase. The X-47 Venom continues to run on a 110/70 R17 front tyre and a 150/60 R17 rear tyre.
The Ultraviolette X-47 Venom is offered in four variants, with 7.5kWh and 11kWh battery options. Ultraviolette will also showcase the X-47 Venom in Europe at EICMA in Milan on November 3, 2026.
