Tata Motors has officially launched the all-new Tata Sierra EV in India at a starting price of INR 18.79 lakh (ex-showroom), marking the return of one of the brand's most iconic nameplates in an all-electric avatar.
The electric SUV is also expected to make its way to Nepal in the coming months through Tata Motors' official distributor, although a launch timeline has yet to be announced.
Built on Tata's Acti.ev+ architecture, the Sierra EV also adopts the TiDAL E&E setup from the Harrier EV. It is available with two battery pack options—63 kWh and 75 kWh.

Both are paired with a rear-mounted electric motor as standard, while the larger battery is also offered with a dual-motor all-wheel-drive (AWD) configuration.
The 63 kWh rear-wheel-drive variant produces 238 hp and 315 Nm of torque, while the 75 kWh version generates 209 hp and 315 Nm. The AWD model adds a 140 hp front-mounted motor, increasing total torque output to 504 Nm. Tata claims the Sierra EV AWD can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.8 seconds with Boost Mode enabled.
The 75 kWh rear-wheel-drive variant delivers an MIDC-certified range of up to 665 km, while the AWD version is rated at 624 km. The 63 kWh variant offers a claimed range of up to 565 km.
The SUV supports 120 kW DC fast charging, enabling a 20 to 80 percent recharge in approximately 26 minutes or adding up to 263 km of claimed range in 15 minutes. Using a 7.2 kW AC charger, a full charge takes around 8.9 hours for the 63 kWh battery and 10.5 hours for the 75 kWh pack.

Like other Tata electric vehicles, the Sierra EV comes with the company's lifetime battery warranty, which covers the battery for up to 15 years from the date of first registration.
In terms of design, the Sierra EV closely resembles the recently launched ICE-powered Sierra but features EV-specific styling elements, including a closed-off body-coloured front fascia, a redesigned front bumper, aerodynamic alloy wheels and exclusive EV badging. Depending on the variant, it rides on either 18-inch or 19-inch alloy wheels and offers 205 mm of ground clearance.

Inside, the cabin features a triple-screen layout comprising a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, a 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen and a 12.3-inch passenger display. Tata has also used recycled materials in several parts of the interior.

Depending on the variant, the Sierra EV is equipped with a 12-speaker JBL Black audio system with Dolby Atmos support, dual-zone automatic climate control, panoramic sunroof, powered and ventilated front seats.
It also gets powered tailgate, wireless charger, air purifier, ambient lighting, rear sunblinds, head-up display, digital key, connected car technology, over-the-air updates, Boss Mode and e-Valet autonomous parking.

Safety features include six airbags as standard, electronic stability control, a 540-degree camera, Level 2 ADAS, auto park assist, and vehicle-to-load (V2L) and vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) charging functionality.
The AWD variant also comes with six terrain modes—Normal, Grass/Snow, Mud/Gravel, Sand, Rock Crawl and Custom—along with low-speed cruise control to enhance off-road capability.

The Sierra EV offers a 622-litre boot, which expands to 1,257 litres with the rear seats folded, making it one of the more practical offerings in its segment.
Positioned above the Curvv EV, the Sierra EV rivals models such as the Mahindra BE 6, Maruti Suzuki eVitara and the Hyundai Creta Electric.
