MG Commute EV Launched in Nepal at Rs 34.99 Lakh

G.O. Automobiles, the official importer and distributor of JSW MG Motor India vehicles in Nepa, has introduced the MG Commute EV in the Nepali market at an introductory price of Rs 34.99 lakh.

The Commute EV is essentially a more budget-friendly variant derived from the MG Windsor EV platform. Developed with commercial usage in mind, the vehicle prioritises practicality and lower operating costs over premium equipment.

As a result, certain comfort and infotainment features found in passenger-oriented models have been omitted, while the spacious cabin layout has been retained to accommodate multiple occupants.

According to the company, the Commute EV is pwoered by a 100 kW electric motor and offers a claimed driving range of up to 332 km on a full charge under the MIDC testing cycle. The MPV also provides up to 604 litres of luggage space, making it suitable for passenger transport as well as cargo-carrying duties.

The introduction of the Commute EV marks MG's entry into Nepal's commercial electric MPV segment, a category that has witnessed increasing adoption in recent years as businesses seek alternatives with lower running costs.

Hotels, airport transfer services, travel operators, and corporate fleets have been among the early adopters of electric people-movers in the country.
