Jagdamba Motors Pvt. Ltd., the official distributor of Proton vehicles in Nepal, has inaugurated a new regional showroom in Janakpur, expanding the brand’s presence across the country and taking its nationwide network to 10 operational Proton showrooms.
The new showroom was inaugurated alongside the regional launch of the Proton eMAS 5, Proton’s second electric vehicle in the Nepali market.
The expansion marks another step in Jagdamba Motors’ efforts to strengthen Proton’s sales and customer support network beyond the Kathmandu Valley and improve access to electric mobility in regional markets.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by Kishori Sah, Deputy Mayor of Janakpurdham Sub-Metropolitan City, along with key business partners, media representatives, auto journalists and local dignitaries.
The strong turnout at the event highlighted the growing interest in electric vehicles and the increasing demand for modern mobility solutions in Janakpur and surrounding areas.
The new Janakpur facility will allow customers in the region to experience Proton vehicles directly, while also providing access to sales and after-sales support. Customers can visit the showroom to explore Proton’s lineup, learn about its electric vehicle technology and schedule test drives.
Alongside the showroom opening, Jagdamba Motors introduced the Proton eMAS 5 in Janakpur as the company’s latest electric offering. Positioned as a compact electric vehicle designed primarily for urban mobility, the e.MAS 5 focuses on practicality, connectivity and everyday usability.
The eMAS 5 is offered in Prime and Premium variants. The Prime gets a 58 kW electric motor and a 30.12 kWh CATL LFP battery, with a claimed WLTP range of up to 225 km. The Premium upgrades to an 85 kW motor paired with a larger 40.16 kWh CATL LFP battery, providing a claimed WLTP range of up to 325 km.
The Prime accelerates from 0–50 km/h in 4.4 seconds, while the Premium completes the same sprint in 3.9 seconds. Both variants support DC fast charging, with the battery capable of charging from 30% to 80% in around 21 minutes. Both versions also feature 3.3 kW Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) functionality, allowing the vehicle to supply electricity to compatible external devices.

Measuring 4,135 mm long, 1,805 mm wide and 1,580 mm tall, the eMAS 5 has a 2,650 mm wheelbase and 175 mm ground clearance. Practicality is one of its key highlights, with a 70-litre front trunk, 375-litre rear luggage capacity and 32 storage compartments.
The cabin features a 14.6-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Safety equipment includes six airbags as standard, while the Premium variant additionally gets a Level 2 ADAS package.
With the opening of its 10th showroom, Jagdamba Motors is continuing to expand Proton’s footprint across Nepal, while the arrival of the eMAS 5 gives customers outside Kathmandu another new electric vehicle option to consider.
