Tata Sierra EV Spotted in Nepal Ahead of NADA Auto Show 2026 Debut

Following the strong reception of the Punch EV Facelift and the new Tiago EV at the recently concluded NAIMA Nepal Mobility Expo 2026, Tata Motors now appears to be preparing its next major electric vehicle for Nepal.

The all-new Tata Sierra EV has been spotted in the country ahead of the upcoming NADA Auto Show 2026, hinting that the iconic SUV could make its Nepal debut at the upcoming automotive exhibition.

While Sipradi Trading, Tata Motors' official distributor in Nepal, has yet to confirm the Sierra EV's launch plans, the vehicle's presence in the country ahead of NADA Auto Show 2026 is a strong indication that it could be showcased at the event.

And if that happens, the Sierra EV could easily become one of the biggest attractions on Tata's stand.

The Sierra nameplate already carries a certain familiarity among SUV enthusiasts in Nepal.

The original Sierra became known for its distinctive design and rugged character, while the latest generation brings the nameplate back as a modern SUV with a significantly more premium and technology-focused approach. The electric version takes that transformation even further.

In India, the Sierra EV is offered with 63 kWh and 75 kWh battery packs. The 63 kWh version comes with rear-wheel drive and produces 238 hp and 315 Nm, while the 75 kWh RWD variant generates 209 hp and 315 Nm.

The larger battery can also be paired with an all-wheel-drive system. The AWD version gets an additional 140 hp front motor, taking total torque output to 504 Nm. Tata claims the Sierra EV AWD can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 5.8 seconds with Boost Mode activated.

However, it is the Sierra EV's range that could attract considerable attention in Nepal. The 75 kWh RWD version delivers a claimed real world range of up to 530 km, while the AWD version is rated at 500 km. The 63 kWh version offers a claimed real range of up to 460 km.

The SUV supports 120 kW DC fast charging, allowing the battery to charge from 20 to 80 percent in around 26 minutes. Tata also claims that 15 minutes of charging can add up to 263 km of claimed range. With a 7.2 kW AC charger, the 63 kWh battery takes around 8.9 hours to fully charge, while the 75 kWh pack requires approximately 10.5 hours.

Design is another area where the Sierra EV stands apart. Although it shares its fundamental design language with the new ICE-powered Sierra, the electric SUV gets a number of EV-specific touches.

These include a closed-off body-coloured front fascia, redesigned bumpers, aerodynamic alloy wheels and exclusive EV badging. Depending on the variant, the SUV rides on 18- or 19-inch alloy wheels and offers 205 mm of ground clearance.

Inside, Tata has gone all-in on technology. The dashboard features a triple-screen layout, with a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, a 12.3-inch infotainment display and another 12.3-inch screen for the front passenger. Recycled materials are also used across several parts of the cabin.

Higher variants offer a long list of premium equipment, including a 12-speaker JBL Black audio system with Dolby Atmos, dual-zone automatic climate control, panoramic sunroof, powered and ventilated front seats, powered tailgate, wireless charging, air purifier, ambient lighting and rear sunblinds.

The Sierra EV also gets a head-up display, digital key, connected-car technology, over-the-air updates, Boss Mode and e-Valet autonomous parking.

Safety and driver assistance features include six airbags, electronic stability control, a 540-degree camera, Level 2 ADAS and auto-park assist. The SUV also supports V2L and V2V charging functionality, adding further versatility to its electric powertrain.

The AWD version is designed to retain some of the Sierra's adventure-oriented character, featuring six terrain modes—Normal, Grass/Snow, Mud/Gravel, Sand, Rock Crawl and Custom. It also gets low-speed cruise control for challenging surfaces.

Despite the emphasis on technology and performance, the Sierra EV remains practical. It offers 622 litres of boot space, which increases to 1,257 litres with the rear seats folded.

For now, Tata Motors has not announced the Sierra EV's Nepal launch date or local pricing. But after the positive response to its latest EV offerings at NAIMA 2026, the Sierra EV's arrival in Nepal ahead of NADA Auto Show 2026 makes the upcoming event even more interesting.
