One of the most highly anticipated electric vehicle launches in recent times, the BYD Seagull—set to be introduced in Nepal as the BYD Atto 1—will officially make its debut at the NAIMA Nepal Mobility Expo 2025.
While BYD has yet to release the complete technical specifications for the Nepal-spec model, it has confirmed that the Atto 1 will feature a 45 kW electric motor and is expected to offer a WLTP range of up to 300 kilometers. The Atto 1 will also become the most affordable BYD model in the Nepali market, with an expected price tag below Rs 30 lakh.
The Seagull was recently introduced in Europe under the name BYD Dolphin Surf, where it receives a series of market-specific upgrades. The European model is notably larger, measuring 3,990 mm in length—an increase of 210 mm over the original Chinese version—along with a 5 mm increase in width and 40 mm increase in height. The wheelbase remains at 2,500 mm.
With the Atto 1’s official unveiling in Nepal just around the corner, attention is now on how BYD will position this compact EV in a market increasingly focused on affordability, practicality, and electric mobility.
