BYD continues to expand its electric vehicle lineup in Nepal. Following the much-awaited debut of the much-anticipated Atto 1 (Seagull) at the NAIMA Nepal Mobility Expo 2025 , the company will launch the Atto 2—its latest compact electric SUV—at the upcoming NADA Auto Show 2025.
Ahead of its official reveal, the Atto 2 has already been spotted in Nepal, signaling that its arrival is just around the corner. While BYD Nepal has yet to release official specifications, the Atto 2 will be positioned above the Dolphin in the brand’s local lineup and is expected to be priced between Rs 45–47 lakh.
The Atto 2 is essentially the global version of the BYD Yuan Up, which launched in China in early 2024. With its dimensions—4,310 mm long, 1,830 mm wide, and 1,675 mm tall—the Atto 2 is slightly smaller than the Atto 3, making it a perfect fit for Nepal’s urban environment. Despite its compact size, it boasts an impressive 1,430 liters of boot spacewith the rear seats folded.
Built on BYD’s state-of-the-art e-Platform 3.0, the Atto 2 is the brand’s first compact SUV to feature Cell-to-Body (CTB) battery integration. This design embeds the battery directly into the vehicle’s structure, improving rigidity, safety, space utilization, and weight balance—key benefits for tackling Nepal’s diverse road conditions.
In terms of power, the Atto 2 may come equipped with a 45.1 kWh LFP Blade battery paired with a 174 bhp front-mounted motor, delivering a WLTP range of 312 km—ample for both daily commutes and weekend drives.
The Atto 2 is expected to come packed with practical and premium features that add strong value for a compact electric SUV. These include 17-inch alloy wheels, leather upholstery, a 10.1-inch or 12.8-inch rotating infotainment screen, six airbags, rear parking sensors, a rear-view camera, a six-speaker sound system, ambient lighting, heated front seats and a heated steering wheel, power-folding side mirrors, and a 360-degree surround-view camera.
With its smart design, efficient performance, and long feature list, the BYD Atto 2 could become one of the most compelling electric SUV options in Nepal.
