Proton Launches eMAS 5 in Nepal, Introductory Price Starts at Rs 29.99 Lakh
Jagdamba Motors, the sole authorised distributors for Proton Cars in Nepal, has officially launched the eMAS 5 in the Nepali market, marking the arrival of its second all-electric model in the country.
The compact electric SUV comes with a rear-wheel-drive (RWD) layout and multi-link rear suspension, and is offered in two variants: Prime and Premium.
The eMAS 5 is priced at Rs 32.99 Lakh for the Prime variant and Rs 36.99 Lakh for the Premium variant. As an introductory offer, the first 100 customers can purchase the Prime variant for Rs 29.99 Lakh, while the first 100 Premium buyers can avail it for Rs 34.99 Lakh.
The Prime variant is powered by a 58 kW electric motor paired with a 30.12 kWh CATL LFP battery, offering a WLTP-certified range of up to 225 km. Meanwhile, the Premium variant features a more powerful 85 kW motor with a 40.16 kWh CATL LFP battery, delivering a WLTP range of up to 325 km on a single charge.
The eMAS 5 has a ground clearance of 175 mm. It accelerates from 0 to 50 km/h in 4.4 seconds in the Prime variant, while the Premium variant completes the same sprint in 3.9 seconds.
For charging, the eMAS 5 supports DC fast charging, allowing the battery to charge from 30% to 80% in approximately 21 minutes. It also comes equipped with 3.3 kW Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) functionality, enabling the vehicle to power external electrical devices.
In terms of dimensions, the eMAS 5 measures 4,135 mm in length, 1,805 mm in width, and 1,580 mm in height, with a 2,650 mm wheelbase. These proportions position it in the compact SUV segment while maximizing interior space.
On the safety front, the eMAS 5 comes standard with six airbags across both variants. The Premium variant further enhances occupant protection with a full suite of Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), adding a range of advanced driver-assistance technologies.
