For 2026, the C16 will be offered in both pure electric (BEV) and extended-range electric vehicle (EREV) versions, and for the first time, a five-seat layout joins the existing six-seat configuration. The new lineup includes eight variants in total—four BEV and four EREV models.

The 2026 C16 EREV variant combines a 1.5-liter gasoline engine with a rear-mounted electric motor producing up to 170 kW of power and 320 Nm of torque. This version can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in as little as 8.46 seconds and reach a maximum speed of 170 km/h.

Customers can choose between two lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery packs—28.4 kWh and 38.7 kWh—offering electric-only ranges of 200 km and 280 km (CLTC), respectively. When fully charged and fueled, the combined range extends up to 1,095 km and 1,150 km.

Meanwhile, the fully electric C16 BEV variants are equipped with a single rear motor delivering 220 kW of power and 360 Nm of torque. These models can sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in just 6.37 seconds and achieve a top speed of 190 km/h. The BEV versions now feature upgraded LFP battery packs with capacities of 74.9 kWh and 81.9 kWh, delivering CLTC driving ranges of 580 km and 630 km, respectively.

On the other hand, the base BEV variant's battery has been upgraded from 67.7 kWh to 74.9 kWh, increasing its range by 60 km compared to the previous model. The top-tier BEV variant now uses an 81.9 kWh battery, extending its range to 630 km under CLTC standards. For reference, the previous generation topped out at 580 km with a 74.9 kWh battery.

One of the new convenience features added to the C16 is an 8.1-liter refrigerator that also supports heating—enhancing the vehicle’s family-oriented appeal.

With performance enhancements, increased range options, and flexible seating configurations, the 2026 Leapmotor C16 positions itself as a compelling choice in the full-size electric SUV market.
