From 250cc Twins to an Inline-Four: Kove Moto Arrives in Nepal

From a 250cc twin-cylinder roadster to a 220 km/h inline-four supersport and a rally machine built for serious off-road riding, Kove Moto is bringing a very different kind of motorcycle lineup to Nepal.

The relatively young Chinese motorcycle manufacturer is set to make its Nepal debut at the NAIMA Nepal Mobility Expo 2026, where it will showcase five performance-focused motorcycles: the Kove 250R, 250RR, MX250, 450RR and 450 Rally.

Unlike a conventional market entry centred around a single commuter or entry-level motorcycle, Kove is arriving with a portfolio covering multiple performance categories. The lineup includes a naked street bike, fully faired sports motorcycle, motocross machine, inline-four supersport and rally-focused adventure motorcycle.

Kove Moto: A New Name With a Racing Ambition

Founded in 2017 in Chongqing, China, Kove Moto is a relatively young motorcycle manufacturer that has built its identity around performance, engineering and motorsport. The company develops motorcycles across road, off-road and rally categories, with racing playing an important role in its product development.

Kove entered the Dakar Rally in 2023, putting its motorcycles through one of the world's most demanding off-road competitions. The company has also pursued road-racing programmes, including participation in the World Superbike Championship.

That racing focus is reflected in Kove's approach to its production motorcycles, several of which emphasise low weight, high-revving engines and performance-oriented chassis components.

For the Nepali market, the brand's appearance at NAIMA Nepal Mobility Expo 2026 will therefore be an opportunity for local riders to see a manufacturer that is taking a distinctly performance-oriented route into the country.

Kove 250R

The Kove 250R is the most accessible road-going motorcycle in the lineup. It is a naked street bike powered by a 249cc liquid-cooled parallel-twin engine with a DOHC, four-stroke configuration.

The engine produces 32 bhp at 11,500 rpm and 22.5 Nm at 9,000 rpm, with Kove claiming a top speed of 160 km/h. The company says the engine platform was independently developed using technology derived from its racing experience, including its WSBK programme.

The 250R has a 153 kg kerb weight, 790 mm seat height, 13-litre fuel tank and 139 mm ground clearance. Suspension comprises a 37 mm upside-down front fork and a preload-adjustable rear monoshock.

Braking is handled by a 320 mm front disc with a two-piston caliper and a 220 mm rear disc, with ABS. The motorcycle also gets 17-inch wheels, 110/70 front and 140/60 rear tyres, and a TFT instrument cluster.

Kove 250RR

The Kove 250RR takes the same 249cc twin-cylinder platform and puts it into a fully faired sports motorcycle.

It produces 32 bhp at 11,500 rpm and 22.5 Nm at 9,000 rpm, with a claimed maximum speed of 160 km/h. The 250RR weighs 153 kg and has the same 790 mm seat height and 13-litre fuel tank as the 250R.

The sportsbike gets upside-down front suspension and a preload-adjustable rear monoshock, while braking is handled by 320 mm front and 220 mm rear discs with ABS. The motorcycle rides on 17-inch wheels with 110/70 front and 140/60 rear tyres.

Its sharper 31-degree steering angle, 24.5-degree rake and fully faired bodywork give it a more focused sportsbike character compared with the naked 250R. A TFT instrument cluster completes the package.

Kove MX250

For riders interested in motocross and off-road riding, Kove will also showcase the MX250.

The lightweight motocross motorcycle is powered by a 249.9cc single-cylinder, DOHC, 14-valve, liquid-cooled enginewith Bosch electronic fuel injection. It produces 40.2 bhp at 12,000 rpm and 27 Nm at 9,500 rpm, with a claimed top speed of 129 km/h.

The MX250's biggest talking point is its weight. It has a claimed 97 kg kerb weight, along with a 960 mm seat height and 310 mm ground clearance. The suspension setup is designed specifically for off-road use, featuring fully adjustable KYB upside-down front forks and a fully adjustable rear damping system.

Suspension travel stands at 310 mm at the front and 280 mm at the rear. The motorcycle uses an 80/100-21 front tyre and 100/90-19 rear tyre, along with single-disc braking at both ends.

Kove 450RR

At the other end of the road-going lineup sits the Kove 450RR, and this is arguably the most eye-catching motorcycle of the five.

Instead of a single- or twin-cylinder engine, the 450RR uses a 443cc DOHC, liquid-cooled engine. It produces 66 bhp at 13,250 rpm and 38 Nm at 11,000 rpm, while its claimed top speed reaches 220 km/h.

The engine is designed as a high-revving unit, with a maximum engine speed of 14,000 rpm. Kove's focus here is clearly on delivering the character associated with larger-capacity inline-four sportbikes in a relatively compact package. The 450RR weighs 165 kg, has a 785 mm seat height and carries a 15-litre fuel tank.

Suspension comes from fully adjustable 41 mm KYB upside-down front forks and a fully adjustable KYB rear shock. The braking setup includes dual front discs with opposed four-piston calipers and ABS, along with a 220 mm rear disc. It runs on 120/70 ZR17 front and 160/60 ZR17 rear tyres.

Kove 450 Rally

The fifth motorcycle, and perhaps the one that best represents Kove's off-road ambitions, is the 450 Rally.

The rally-focused motorcycle is powered by a 449cc single-cylinder, DOHC engine with water and oil cooling. It produces 51 bhp at 9,500 rpm and 39 Nm at 7,000 rpm, with a claimed top speed of 170 km/h.

The 450 Rally is built around long-distance off-road riding, with a large 32-litre fuel tank and high ground clearance. Kove offers the motorcycle in high- and low-seat configurations, with seat heights of 960 mm and 910 mm respectively.

Suspension is a major part of the motorcycle's specification. It gets fully adjustable Yu An upside-down front forks and a rear shock with an external reservoir. On the high-seat version, suspension travel reaches 305 mm at the front and 300 mm at the rear, while the low version gets 255 mm and 270 mm respectively.

The motorcycle uses a 21-inch front and 18-inch rear wheel combination, along with 90/90-21 and 140/80-18 tyres. A TFT instrument cluster is also included.

Kove's First Impression in Nepal

Kove Moto's arrival is notable not simply because it is another new motorcycle brand entering Nepal, but because of the type of motorcycles it has chosen to bring.

The 250R and 250RR target riders looking for lightweight twin-cylinder performance, the 450RR moves into the high-performance inline-four category, while the MX250 and 450 Rally take Kove into dedicated off-road territory.

That makes its NAIMA Nepal Mobility Expo 2026 debut particularly interesting in a Nepali market where interest in performance motorcycles, adventure bikes and off-road riding continues to grow.

The Kove 250R, 250RR, MX250, 450RR and 450 Rally will be showcased at the NAIMA Nepal Mobility Expo 2026, taking place from August 11 to 16 at Bhrikuti Mandap, Kathmandu. Pricing and details regarding the individual models' availability in Nepal are expected to be revealed around the expo.
