BYD has launched the Atto 2, its latest compact electric SUV, in the Nepalese market at a price of Rs 43.99 lakh. The model is positioned between the Dolphin and the Atto 3 in the company’s lineup.

The Atto 2 is equipped with a 100 kW electric motor producing 290 Nm of torque, paired with a 51.13 kWh batterythat delivers a WLTP-certified range of up to 345 km per charge.

In terms of size, the vehicle measures 4,310 mm in length, 1,830 mm in width, and 1,675 mm in height, making it slightly smaller than the Atto 3. With 200 mm of ground clearance, the Atto 2 is designed to manage a variety of road conditions.  Despite its compact footprint, it offers up to 1,430 liters of boot space with the rear seats folded.

The SUV is built on BYD’s e-Platform 3.0 and is the first compact model from the company to feature Cell-to-Body (CTB) battery integration. This design embeds the battery into the vehicle structure, enhancing rigidity, safety, and weight distribution. For safety, the model comes with six airbags along with BYD’s electronic safety systems.

The Atto 2 follows the earlier introduction of the Atto 1 and Atto 3, expanding BYD’s electric vehicle portfolio in Nepal. Its specifications place it in the growing compact electric SUV segment, as the country continues to see rising interest in electric mobility.
