Geely has officially launched the 2026 version of its popular compact electric hatchback, the Geometry Xingyuan, in China.
The model’s design, platform, and technology will directly underpin the upcoming Proton eMas 5 — Malaysia’s next all-electric hatchback, expected to debut soon as one of the country’s most affordable EVs.
Like the Proton eMas 7, which is based on Geely’s Galaxy series, the Proton eMas 5 will be a localized version of the Geome Xingyuan. Aside from the Proton branding and right-hand-drive setup, the two cars will be nearly identical in styling, features, and performance.
In China, the Geome Xingyuan is available in six variants, spread across two range options — 310 km and 410 km (CLTC cycle). The Xingyuan features a clean, aerodynamic exterior with a closed-off front grille, L-shaped daytime running lights, semi-hidden door handles, and wheels up to 16 inches.
It measures 4,135 mm in length, 1,805 mm in width, and 1,570 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,650 mm. Practical touches include a 375-litre rear trunk, a 70-litre front trunk, and foldable rear seats that expand total capacity to around 1,320 litres.

Inside, the cabin features an 8.8-inch digital instrument cluster and either a 10.1-inch or 14.6-inch central touchscreen, depending on the variant. The infotainment system runs on Flyme Auto, offering dual-zone voice control, smartphone integration via Flyme Link, and a 540° panoramic camera system.
Power comes from two single-motor rear-wheel-drive options. The 310 km version is equipped with a 58 kW motor delivering 130 Nm of torque and a 30.12 kWh LFP battery. The 410 km version offers an 85 kW motor with 150 Nm of torque and a larger 40.16 kWh LFP battery.
Both versions use CATL battery cells with liquid-cooling temperature control. A 30–80% DC fast charge takes about 21 minutes, while a 10-minute charge adds roughly 120 km of range.
The Proton eMas 5 is expected to carry forward these specifications, making it a practical and value-driven urban EV for Malaysia. Once launched, it could also reach markets like Nepal, where demand for compact electric hatchbacks is on the rise.
