The 2025 KTM 390 Adventure lineup includes three variants globally—X, S, and R. However, only the 390 Adventure X and S variants will be available in India, with the R variant remaining exclusive for international markets. Interestingly, KTM has dropped the 'S' designation, renaming the 390 Adventure S simply as the 'KTM 390 Adventure.

Inspired by KTM’s Dakar Rally machines, the 2025 KTM 390 Adventure showcases a more aggressive, top-heavy body design. It features a dual-projector headlamp setup with LED daytime running lights, a newly designed beak-style front fender, and a sharper front cowl.

Powering the 390 Adventure is the same engine found in the third-generation 390 Duke, producing 44.86PS and 39Nm. The motor is paired with a 6-speed gearbox featuring a slip-and-assist clutch and a bi-directional quickshifter. KTM claims that the gearbox has been refined for smoother shifts in the fifth and sixth gears. Additionally, the company states that the 390 Adventure achieves a fuel efficiency of 29 km/l.

in terms of features, the 2025 KTM 390 Adventure comes equipped with a 5-inch TFT display with Bluetooth connectivity, three riding modes (Rain, Road, and Offroad), switchable dual-channel ABS, cornering ABS, cornering traction control (which can be turned off), and cruise control.

In terms of suspension, the 2025 KTM 390 Adventure features a strengthened steel trellis frame with an updated subframe for enhanced rigidity. It is fitted with an inverted telescopic fork offering compression and rebound adjustability, while the rear monoshock has preload and rebound adjustments, both providing 200mm of suspension travel.

Braking duties are handled by disc brakes at both ends, mounted on 21-inch front and 17-inch rear tubeless spoke wheels. With a ground clearance of 232mm and a seat height of 835mm, the 2025 390 Adventure weighs 183kg (kerb) and features a 14-litre fuel tank. The bike is offered in two color options: White and Orange

KTM 390 Adventure X: A Simplified Version

The 390 Adventure X serves as a more basic offering, excluding features like cruise control, cornering traction control, ride modes, and cornering ABS. However, it retains off-road ABS functionality.

Built on the same platform as the 390 Adventure, the 390 Adventure X carries forward a similar design and is available in two color schemes: Orange and White. While it shares the same engine, the suspension setup differs slightly. It features a non-adjustable inverted telescopic fork and a preload-adjustable monoshock, with both ends offering 200mm of travel.

Braking components remain unchanged, but the X variant rolls on 19-inch front and 17-inch rear alloy wheels. Ground clearance is still 232mm, but the seat height has been lowered to 825mm for better accessibility. The kerb weight is slightly lighter at 182kg, and the fuel tank retains its 14-litre capacity.

In terms of features, the 390 Adventure X gets a TFT instrument cluster with Bluetooth connectivity, enabling call and SMS alerts, turn-by-turn navigation, and music control. It also gets switchable dual-channel ABS and an off-road mode that disables traction control.

KTM 250 Adventure Joins the Lineup

KTM has also introduced the 2025 250 Adventure in India, sharing the same design language and chassis as the 390 Adventure models. Available in Orange and White, the 250 Adventure is powered by the same engine as the 250 Duke, delivering 31PS and 25Nm, mated to a 6-speed gearbox with a slip-and-assist clutch.

It features an inverted telescopic fork and a preload-adjustable monoshock, both offering 200mm of suspension travel. Ground clearance stands at 232mm, while the seat height is set at 825mm. The bike comes with a 14-litre fuel tank and has a kerb weight of 177kg.
