Yatri Energy, the subsidiary of Yatri Motorcycles, is making waves in Nepal’s electric mobility sector with its innovative approach to EV charging solutions.

Focused on supporting both two-wheeler and four-wheeler electric vehicles, the company aims to make charging more accessible, efficient, and smarter for users nationwide.

The company is reportedly developing an in-house OCPP (Open Charge Point Protocol) platform, designed to be compatible with both legacy chargers (1.6J) and the latest smart charging standards (2.0.1 version). This ensures seamless integration across various EV models and future-ready connectivity for emerging electric mobility solutions.

In addition to its software platform, Yatri Energy is also exploring advanced fleet management systems for EV chargers. These systems are expected to enable real-time monitoring, predictive maintenance, and energy optimization, offering operators and users an unprecedented level of control over their charging experience.

A spokesperson for Yatri Energy said, “Our platform will support multiple CPOs and handle both protocols because there's already quite a lot of investment by many ventures on old protocol.”

With Nepal witnessing a growing adoption of electric motorcycles and vehicles, Yatri Energy’s initiatives could play a crucial role in shaping the country’s EV ecosystem, making clean mobility more convenient and sustainable for all.
