Yamaha India has expanded its hybrid motorcycle range with the introduction of the FZ-X Hybrid.
Positioned above the standard FZ-X, this model builds on the platform of the recently launched FZ-S Hybrid by incorporating fuel-efficient hybrid technology and added features.
The updates include a Smart Motor Generator (SMG) system that features an Integrated Starter Generator (ISG), allowing for a quieter engine start and a Stop-and-Start System (SSS). This setup enhances fuel efficiency by automatically shutting off the engine at idle and restarting it when the clutch is engaged.
Despite these additions, the motorcycle retains the same 149cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine delivering 12.4hp and 13.3Nm of torque, paired with a 5-speed gearbox.
Another significant update comes in the form of a 4.2-inch full-colour TFT display—similar to the one seen on the FZ-S Hybrid. This updated instrument cluster now supports smartphone connectivity through Yamaha’s Y-Connect app, offering turn-by-turn navigation via Google Maps, along with live route updates, intersection alerts, and street names.
Design-wise, the FZ-X Hybrid is similar to the standard model but introduces a Matte Titan colour scheme featuring a matte green body paired with golden wheels. The only physical difference lies in its weight—at 141 kg, the hybrid version is 2 kg heavier than the regular FZ-X.
