Positioned as a direct competitor to Tesla’s Model Y, the YU7 enters China’s fiercely contested electric SUV segment with aggressive pricing and a tech-rich feature set.

The YU7 is offered in three trims—Standard, Pro, and Max—with starting prices of RMB 253,500 ($35,360), RMB 279,900, and RMB 329,900, respectively. Each undercuts Tesla’s Model Y, making Xiaomi’s entry all the more compelling for value-conscious buyers.

Built on the company’s Modena EV platform, the YU7 is a mid-to-large-size, five-seater SUV. It measures 4,999 mm in length, 1,996 mm in width, and stands 1,608 mm tall, with a generous 3,000 mm wheelbase. The SUV’s sleek fastback design incorporates aerodynamic enhancements such as active grille shutters, flush-fitting door handles, and a drag coefficient of just 0.245. Customers can choose between 19- and 21-inch wheels.

Performance differs across variants. The Standard version uses a single rear-mounted motor delivering 320 Ps, accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.88 seconds. The Pro and Max trims are dual-motor, all-wheel-drive models generating 496 Ps and 690 Ps, respectively. The Pro sprints to 100 km/h in 4.27 seconds, while the Max variant does it in just 3.23 seconds.

Voice interaction is powered by Xiaomi’s AI assistant.

Other luxury touches include a 4.6-liter built-in mini fridge and a premium 25-speaker audio system with Dolby Atmos support. Seamless integration with Apple devices is available across all models, including Apple CarPlay, Apple Music, and Apple Watch vehicle control.
