Toyota has introduced the first-ever performance hybrid version of the Land Cruiser 300 in the Middle East, marking a major advancement for the iconic SUV. This petrol-electric variant produces a combined 457 horsepower, making it the most powerful Land Cruiser in the model’s history.
The Land Cruiser 300 Hybrid shares its powertrain with the Lexus LX700h. Under the hood is a new 3.5-litre twin-turbo V6 petrol engine, paired with an electric motor generator in a parallel hybrid layout. This combination delivers a total of 457hp, and the hybrid SUV comes equipped with a 10-speed automatic transmission as standard.
Design-wise, the hybrid version features subtle changes, including a redesigned front bumper with more blacked-out elements around the lower sections and fog lamps. The rear gets an ‘HEV’ badge, identifying it as part of Toyota’s hybrid lineup.
Inside, the Land Cruiser 300 Hybrid adds a new 12.3-inch fully digital instrument cluster and a 220V AC inverter outlet in the boot, useful for powering electronic devices and small appliances. Apart from these upgrades, the interior layout remains largely the same as the regular version.
In Nepal, Toyota currently offers the standard Land Cruiser 300, which is powered by a 3.3-litre V6 diesel engine producing 305hp and 700Nm of torque.
