Morris Garages (MG) Nepal, under Paramount Motors, has teased the arrival of the MG HS Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV) through its official social media channels, indicating that the model could soon join the company's lineup in Nepal.
The HS PHEV will become MG's first plug-in hybrid model to be introduced in the Nepali market, marking the brand's entry into the hybrid vehicle segment alongside its existing portfolio of battery-electric vehicles.
The new-generation MG HS PHEV is based on MG's latest plug-in hybrid powertrain, pairing a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine with an electric motor and a 21.4 kWh battery pack.
According to global specifications, the petrol engine produces 143 hp, while the electric motor delivers 135 kW (183 hp). Combined system output is rated at 272 PS, with the SUV capable of accelerating from 0-100 km/h in 6.8 seconds.

One of the key highlights of the global-spec model is its claimed electric-only driving range of up to 100 km (WLTP)on a full charge. The plug-in hybrid system also incorporates a two-speed transmission and a 110 kW generator, designed to improve efficiency across different driving conditions.

In terms of safety, the global model is equipped with 13 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), seven airbags, and a 360-degree camera. Other equipment includes dual 12.3-inch digital displays, wireless smartphone charging, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, multiple USB charging ports, and hands-free tailgate access.

The MG HS PHEV also offers a spacious cabin with seating for five occupants. Rear passengers benefit from generous legroom, while the luggage compartment provides 507 litres of cargo capacity. The cabin further features 19 storage compartments and ISOFIX child-seat mounting points.
Paramount Motors has not yet announced the official launch date, pricing, or Nepal-spec variants of the MG HS PHEV. The specifications mentioned above are based on the global-market model, and the version destined for Nepal may differ in terms of equipment and features.
More details are expected to be announced closer to its official launch.
