MG Hector Tomahawk EV: Wuling Eksion-Based 7-Seater EV Headed to Nepal
MG Hector Tomahawk EV, JSW MG Motor's new three-row electric SUV, will make its way to Nepal as well.
The Hector Tomahawk EV is a MG-badged version of the Wuling Eksion EV already introduced in Nepal. Both models share the same basic dimensions, 69.2 kWh battery capacity, 150 kW electric motor and 310 Nm of torque, pointing to their common SAIC-GM-Wuling origins.
The MG version, however, receives its own exterior and interior treatment along with MG-specific equipment and branding.
The Wuling Eksion EV was offered at a special NAIMA Expo price of Rs. 55.99 lakh, against its regular price of Rs. 57.99 lakh. With the Hector Tomahawk EV expected to follow into Nepal sometime soon, JSW MG could potentially position the SUV at an even more attractive pricing compared to the Eksion.
The Hector Tomahawk EV measures 4,745 mm long, 1,850 mm wide and 1,770 mm tall, with a 2,810 mm wheelbase and 230 mm of ground clearance. In the Indian market, it is offered in both five- and seven-seat configurations.
The five-seat version provides 610 litres of luggage space, while the seven-seater offers 192 litres with all three rows occupied and up to 528 litres when the third row is folded.
Power comes from a 69.2 kWh battery pack that delivers 150 kW and 310 Nm, with MG claiming a MIDC range of 517 km. The SUV can accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in 8.2 seconds.
Charging capability includes DC fast charging at up to 90 kW. MG says the battery can be charged from 30 to 80 percent in around 35 minutes using a compatible DC charger. With a 7.4 kW AC charger, a 10 to 100 percent charge takes approximately 12.5 hours.
The Tomahawk EV gets a distinctive front-end with LED projector headlamps, DRLs, an illuminated MG badge, 18-inch alloy wheels and a powered tailgate. Inside, it features a 15.6-inch touchscreen, 8.8-inch digital cluster, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, wireless charging and MG's i-SMART connected technology with over 30 Hinglish voice commands.
Other equipment includes a panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats, 256-colour ambient lighting, a 10-speaker Infinity sound system, rear window sunshades and a memory function for the driver's seat.
MG has also included different cabin modes such as Nap, Camp, Energise, Pro Pet, Valet and Quiet, designed around different usage scenarios.
The safety package includes six airbags, a 360-degree camera and a suite of advanced driver assistance systems. The SUV also supports vehicle-to-load, vehicle-to-vehicle and vehicle-to-home functions, adding further utility to its large battery pack.
