Mahindra is gearing up to expand its electric vehicle lineup with the launch of the XEV 9S, an all-new 7-seater eSUV, set to debut in India on November 27, 2025.
Built on the brand’s in-house INGLO Skateboard platform, the XEV 9S will be the latest addition to Mahindra’s growing ‘Electric Origin’ range, which already includes models like the XEV 9e and BE 6.
While Mahindra hasn’t revealed full specifications yet, the XEV 9S is expected to be a production-spec version of the XUV700 Electric prototype (XEV 7e) that has been spotted testing several times. If that’s true, it could carry over design cues such as connected LED DRLs, a blanked-off grille, dual-pod LED headlights, and a futuristic cabin design.
Inside, the XEV 9S could feature a three-screen dashboard setup, similar to the XEV 9e — consisting of a 12.3-inch driver display, a 12.3-inch infotainment system, and a 12.3-inch co-driver screen. A two-spoke illuminated steering wheel and possibly a panoramic glass roof are also expected.
The SUV will utilize Mahindra’s high-voltage INGLO architecture, known for its flexibility across body styles and configurations. Powertrain details remain unconfirmed, but industry expectations suggest it may borrow electric motor and battery options from the XEV 9e and BE 6.
As Mahindra marks one year since introducing its first electric SUVs, the upcoming XEV 9S signals the company’s intent to strengthen its position in India’s rapidly expanding premium EV segment.
