Leapmotor has officially launched the battery electric vehicle (BEV) variant of its flagship D19 full-size SUV in China, marking the model’s entry into the country’s rapidly intensifying premium electric vehicle segment.

The launch places strong emphasis on long driving range, with the BEV variant offering up to 720 km under China’s CLTC testing cycle, depending on configuration.

The D19 BEV is offered with a dual-motor all-wheel-drive powertrain delivering a combined output of 410 kW, or approximately 550 horsepower.

Customers can choose between two battery options, 99.6 kWh and 115 kWh, with claimed CLTC ranges of 620 km and 720 km respectively. This positions the SUV among the higher-range offerings in the full-size electric SUV category in China.

In addition to the standard configuration, Leapmotor also offers a three-motor performance variant of the D19 BEV. This version uses a 115 kWh battery and produces a peak output of 540 kW, or about 724 horsepower. Despite its performance focus, it still delivers a claimed CLTC range of around 680 km and accelerates from 0–100 km/h in 3.94 seconds.

The D19 BEV is built on the LEAP 4.0 architecture and uses a 1,000-volt high-voltage system designed to support faster charging and improved efficiency.

The company claims the platform can add over 350 km of range in approximately 15 minutes under optimal conditions, reinforcing its positioning as a long-distance capable electric SUV.

Measuring over 5.2 meters in length, the D19 is positioned as a full-size SUV targeting both family and executive buyers in China’s premium EV market.

With its combination of extended range, high-voltage architecture, and multi-motor configurations, the model strengthens Leapmotor’s push into the upper segment of the domestic electric vehicle market.
