The Journalist Association for Automobile and Mobility (JAAM Nepal), also known as the Nepal Auto Journalists Association, has unanimously elected a new central executive committee during its fourth general assembly and held in Nagarkot, Bhaktapur.
The convention appointed Surendra Paudel as the new President. Paudel, who is affiliated with Arthik Aawaj Online Media, previously served as the Vice President of the association.
Toyanath Paudel has been elected Vice President. He is associated with Automobile Magazine and Nepal Auto Online and previously served as the General Secretary of the outgoing committee.
Prayas Shrestha has been elected General Secretary. He is affiliated with Shilapatra Online and previously held the position of Secretary. Similarly, Basanta Aryal has been elected Secretary, while Hari Prasad Gajurel has been appointed Treasurer. Aryal is associated with Nepali Paisa, and Gajurel works with Mero Auto Online.
The newly elected executive members include Saurav Nepal (Nepal Drives), Amrit Chimoriya (RatoPati), and Kamala Bhandari (Capital Nepal).
According to the revised statute of the association, the central executive committee will comprise 11 members. The elected body will later nominate two additional members, including the immediate past president. The tenure of the executive committee is two years.
Outgoing President Sagar Gajurel congratulated the new leadership, expressing confidence that the committee will work effectively toward the growth of the association, as well as the welfare and skill development of its members. He also pledged continued cooperation as part of the association’s team.
Founder and former President Ujjwal Jung Shah also extended congratulations to the new committee, expressing confidence that the association will continue working to strengthen the capacity of automotive journalists in Nepal.
