GAC Aion i60 Debuts in China With Up to 650 km Range

GAC Aion has expanded its global lineup with the launch of the all-new Aion i60 in China—a model that could further strengthen the brand’s growing presence in markets like Nepal, where Aion currently offers the Aion V and Aion Y electric SUVs.

The i60 is positioned as a five-seat compact SUV and comes in both pure-electric and range-extended (EREV) versions, giving it broad appeal for buyers prioritising range, efficiency, or flexibility.

The pure-electric variant uses a 75 kWh battery that delivers up to 650 km of CLTC range and supports fast charging from 30% to 80% in around 15 minutes.

For those who often travel long distances, the EREV option pairs a 1.5L  engine (74 kW) with a 180 kW electric motor, offering 210 km of pure electric range and an impressive 1,240 km combined range. 

In terms of design, the Aion i60 adopts a cleaner, more mature look with slim LED headlights and a neat front fascia carrying the Aion wordmark. Its dimensions—4685mm in length, 1854mm in width, and 1660mm in height—give it a solid road presence, complemented by semi-hidden door handles and 18- or 19-inch wheel options.

A full-width LED light bar and illuminated logo define the rear, while wide-opening doors and an electric tailgate add everyday convenience. Inside, the cabin follows Aion’s familiar layout but with a cleaner, more refined execution.

The model also comes equipped with GAC’s GSD intelligent driving suite, offering high-speed Navigation Driving Assist (NDA), automated parking (HPA), and lane-change support—features typically seen in higher-end EVs.

With GAC Aion already gaining traction in Nepal through the Aion V and Aion Y, the i60 could position itself as a strong candidate in the midsize electric SUV segment if the brand chooses to expand its lineup in the Nepali market.
