Chery has officially introduced the iCar Super V23, the newest member of its iCar lineup, in China.

What truly sets the iCar Super V23 apart is its remarkable achievement recognized by the Guinness Book of World Records. The SUV has been awarded the record for the fastest ascent of a sand dune higher than 400 meters by a mass-produced EV, completing the climb in just 2 minutes and 38.34 seconds.

In terms of design, the iCar Super V23 carries forward the boxy retro-inspired aesthetic of the standard V23 while introducing sportier touches that give it a unique identity. Exclusive red “S” badges adorn the grille, fenders, and tailgate, while semi-flush door handles and 21-inch five-spoke alloy wheels wrapped in 265/45 R21 tires add a contemporary edge.

The SUV maintains its dimensions—4,220 mm in length, 1,915 mm in width, and 1,845 mm in height—with a 2,735 mm wheelbase. Depending on the variant, kerb weight ranges between 1,735 and 1,960 kilograms, while approach and departure angles of up to 43° and 41° ensure its off-road credentials.

Underneath, the iCar Super V23 comes with two powertrain choices: rear-wheel drive (RWD) and all-wheel drive (AWD), both capped at a top speed of 170 km/h. The RWD variant features a 185 kW motor generating 300 Nm of torque, paired with CATL lithium iron phosphate batteries available in 59.93 kWh or 80.16 kWh capacities, offering CLTC ranges of 401 km and 550 km.

The AWD model, meanwhile, incorporates an additional 150 kW motor on the front axle, producing a combined 335 kW (449 hp) and 490 Nm of torque. This configuration enables an acceleration of 0–100 km/h in just 4.5 seconds, with its 80.16 kWh battery supporting a 501 km range.

Inside, the cabin blends technology with refinement. An 8.88-inch digital instrument cluster is paired with a 15.4-inch 2.5K infotainment display, powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8155 chip for smooth operation. Connectivity options such as Apple CarPlay, HiCar, and CarLink come standard across all trims. Subtle red accents, an “S” emblem, and a Boost button on the steering wheel further differentiate the Super V23, emphasizing its performance-oriented character.

Advanced safety and intelligence are delivered through 22 integrated sensors, including 12 ultrasonic radars, 5 millimeter-wave radars, and 5 cameras. These work in sync with the Falcon 500 driver-assistance system, enabling more than 23 intelligent driving functions and elevating the SUV’s semi-autonomous capabilities.

With its Guinness World Record distinction and impressive specifications, the Chery iCar Super V23 not only strengthens Chery’s EV portfolio but also positions itself as a bold competitor in the global electric SUV market.
