Ather Energy has reached a major production milestone, rolling out its 500,000th electric scooter from the company’s Hosur facility in Tamil Nadu, India. This achievement marks a significant step in the brand’s journey since launching its first product in 2018.
The milestone unit was the Ather Rizta, introduced in 2024, which has quickly become a cornerstone of Ather’s growth. The Rizta now accounts for over one-third of the company’s total production volume. Reflecting this momentum, the company recorded its highest-ever monthly sales in September 2025, delivering 18,109 units, with strong demand from family buyers.
Commenting on the achievement, Swapnil Jain, Co-founder and Chief Technology Officer, said, “Crossing 500,000 scooters is a major milestone for Ather. From our first prototype to today, our journey has focused on building a scalable and reliable manufacturing ecosystem, backed by rigorous testing and quality engineering.”
To keep up with rising demand, Ather is expanding production beyond Hosur. The company currently operates two facilities — one for vehicle assembly and another for battery production — with a combined annual capacity of 420,000 scooters.

Additionally, construction is underway on a third plant, Factory 3.0 in Maharastra, India. Built to Industry 4.0 standards, this facility is expected to increase Ather’s total production capacity to 1.42 million electric two-wheelers per year once operational.
Alongside manufacturing growth, Ather has been rapidly expanding its retail network. The company now operates over 500 showrooms across India, adding 101 new outlets between June and August 2025, with much of this expansion focused on Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities, extending the brand’s presence beyond metropolitan markets.
Ather currently ranks third in India’s electric two-wheeler market, holding a 17 percent market share as of September 2025, behind TVS and Bajaj Auto. During Ather Community Day 2025 in August, the company also unveiled its all-new EL platform, which will underpin an entire range of upcoming models at Factory 3.0, further boosting production and supporting future growth.
