Mahindra has introduced the 2025 Thar in India, featuring subtle exterior enhancements and updated interior features while retaining its existing engines and mechanical setup.
The 2025 Thar continues with its rugged, boxy silhouette and three-door layout, reflecting Mahindra’s decision to preserve its iconic design identity. On the outside, it now sports a body-coloured front grille, a dual-tone front bumper, and two new paint choices — Tango Red and Battleship Grey.
Apart from these tweaks, the overall design remains identical to the outgoing version, with familiar headlights, tail-lamps, and 18-inch alloy wheels maintaining the SUV’s signature appeal.

Inside, the cabin has been refreshed with a new black-themed dashboard and a redesigned steering wheel. The updated interior now includes rear AC vents, door-mounted power window switches, and individual armrests with storagefor the front occupants. Other features include a grab handle on the A-pillar and a fuel-lid opener button positioned near the steering column for easier access.

The Thar’s safety and tech package has also been upgraded, featuring a rear wiper and washer, rear camera, and a new 10.25-inch infotainment touchscreen with an updated off-road information suite.
Mechanically, there are no changes under the hood. The SUV continues with the same 2.0-litre petrol and 1.5-litre and 2.2-litre diesel engines, paired with manual and automatic gearbox options.

Buyers can still choose between rear-wheel-drive and 4x4 configurations. Suspension, brakes, and chassis components remain unchanged, ensuring the Thar retains its proven off-road performance.
