Tata Punch Gets EV-Inspired Look and Turbo-Petrol Power

Tata Motors has revealed the updated Punch ahead of its January 13 launch, bringing the micro-SUV its most significant refresh since 2021.

The facelift draws design cues from the Punch EV, features an upgraded interior, and introduces a turbo-petrol engine, keeping it competitive against the Hyundai Exter and Citroen C3.

The front of the facelifted Punch resembles its electric sibling, with vertically stacked trapezoidal headlamps and a prominent black panel across the bumper. The LED daytime running lights now feature a slim black strip in between, while the lower bumper houses large air intakes and a faux skid plate.

At the rear, the tail-lamps have been replaced with a connected LED setup, and the bumper has been reworked. The micro-SUV also receives new alloy wheels and a range of updated paint options.

Inside, the Punch gets an interior layout similar to Tata’s new models. New updates include a digital instrument cluster, a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a two-spoke steering wheel, touch-sensitive climate controls, and fresh upholstery materials. A 360-degree camera is also expected to make its debut in the Punch lineup.

Under the hood, Tata is introducing a 1.2-litre three-cylinder turbo-petrol engine with a 6-speed manual gearbox. The current naturally aspirated 88hp petrol engine with 5-speed manual and AMT options will continue.
