River Mobility Enters Nepal, Launches Indie Electric Scooter at Rs 3.70 Lakh

River Mobility has entered the Nepali market with the launch of its first international store in partnership with Vishal Group, marking the Indian electric scooter manufacturer's first step into international retail expansion.

Located next to MG Motors Showroom at Narayan Chaur, Naxal, Kathmandu, the new store will serve as a customer experience hub, offering test rides, product experiences, bookings, accessories and merchandise.

River has also established a dedicated service centre at VG Suzuki Service Center, behind Paropakar School in Tadha Marg, Bhimsenthan, Kathmandu, to support customers with after-sales services.

The launch follows River Mobility's participation in NAIMA Expo 2026, where the company introduced its flagship Indie electric scooter to the Nepali public. According to the company, the expo generated more than 150 pre-orders, followed by a mass delivery ceremony on the opening day of its Kathmandu store.

River plans to expand its retail presence across Nepal, with a target of opening stores in all seven provinces by March 2028. In partnership with Vishal Group, the company also aims to establish a broader retail and service network in key cities, strengthening customer accessibility and after-sales support.

Priced at Rs 3,70,000, the River Indie is positioned as a utility-focused electric scooter designed for everyday commuting and practical use. It features a 4 kWh battery pack, offering an IDC-certified range of up to 160 km on a single charge and a claimed top speed of 90 km/h.

The scooter also gets 177 mm of ground clearance, 14-inch wheels and an 18-degree gradeability, which the company says should help it handle varied road conditions and hilly terrain. Another key highlight is its 55 litres of lockable storage, designed to accommodate everyday essentials and make the scooter more practical for daily errands.

Speaking about the launch, Aravind Mani, Co-founder and Chief Executive Officer of River Mobility, said entering Nepal marks an important milestone in the company's international expansion.

He added that establishing a dedicated service centre alongside the retail store reflects River's focus on customer trust and after-sales readiness. He also highlighted Vishal Group's automotive expertise and established network as important factors in the partnership.

Nikunj Agrawal, Director of Vishal Group, said the partnership would combine the group's automotive experience and nationwide network with River's product innovation to deliver a customer-focused retail and after-sales experience in Nepal.

River Mobility's international expansion follows a recent US$120 million funding round, which the company says will support its continued growth, product development and long-term expansion plans across markets.

Founded in Bengaluru in March 2021 by Aravind Mani and Vipin George, River Mobility focuses on utility-first electric vehicles. Its flagship Indie is designed around practicality, storage capacity and everyday usability.
