Nissan India has officially unveiled the design of its upcoming C-segment SUV, the Tekton, marking the brand’s re-entry into the compact SUV space. The global design reveal confirms that the Hyundai Creta rival will arrive in the Indian market between April and June 2026.

Built on the all-new Renault Duster platform, the Tekton will share its dimensions and underpinnings with its French counterpart. Nissan’s version, however, carries a distinctive design language that gives it a bold, muscular stance.

According to Ken Lee, Nissan’s Senior Design Director, the Tekton’s styling borrows cues from the Patrol’s design DNA — with a commanding grille, sculpted bonnet, and muscular body lines combining to give it a powerful, purposeful aesthetic. Both front and rear bumpers get a two-tone black and silver finish, further enhancing the SUV’s off-road appeal.

Up front, the SUV features a wide grille with the Nissan logo, flanked by connected LED DRLs and C-shaped LED headlamps that draw inspiration from the brand’s flagship Patrol SUV.

The bonnet is upright with sharp ridges, and the nose proudly carries the ‘TEKTON’ badging for added presence. A chunky bumper with a dual-tone skid platereinforces its rugged personality.

From the side, the Tekton sports a tall silhouette, roof rails, and flared wheel arches housing dual-tone alloy wheels. The rear door handles are subtly integrated into the pillar for a cleaner profile. At the rear, it gets an extended roof spoiler, connected taillamps with an inverted C-shape, and thick body cladding to complete the SUV’s robust look.

Inside, Nissan has previewed a teaser of the cabin showing a layered dashboard layout. The upper section features soft-touch materials, the centre console gets a glossy black finish, and a copper accent strip runs across the width, hinting at a premium, contemporary interior theme.

The Tekton will be produced at the Renault-Nissan Alliance plant in Chennai, serving both the domestic and export markets. With this launch, Nissan aims to re-establish its presence in India’s highly competitive compact SUV segment with a fresh, globally aligned product.
