MG S5 EV Launched in Nepal With a Tempting Rs 43.99 Lakh Price Tag!
The highly anticipated MG S5 EV has arrived in Nepal with a competitive starting price of Rs 43.99 Lakh. It is available in three variants with two battery pack options: the 49.1 kWh Comfort Variant (Rs 43.99 Lakh), the Deluxe Variant (Rs 49.99 Lakh), and the 62.2 kWh Luxury Variant (Rs 54.99 Lakh).
As the successor to the popular MG ZS EV, the MG S5 delivers an enhanced driving experience with its advanced platform, ultra-thin battery, and tech-loaded cabin. Notably, Nepal is the second country, after China, to officially get the MG S5 EV.
All three variants are powered by a 99 kW electric motor. The Comfort and Deluxe models feature a 49.1 kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery, offering a WLTP range of 340 km, while the Luxury Variant extends the range to 430 km with its 62.2 kWh battery. The EV accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in under 7.1 seconds and reaches a top speed of 175 km/h, making it one of the most thrilling options in its class.
A key highlight of the MG S5 is its ultra-thin battery pack, the slimmest ever seen in Nepal at just 110mm thick. Developed in collaboration with CATL, a global leader in battery technology, this design enhances aerodynamics and maximizes interior space. Additionally, the battery has undergone rigorous safety tests, including nail penetration, ensuring top-tier durability.
Built on the same Modular Scalable Platform as the MG4 electric hatchback and Cyberster electric roadster, the MG S5 features a rear-wheel-drive layout and independent suspension. This setup significantly improves handling, stability, and comfort, making it the first in its segment to offer such an advanced suspension system for a smoother and more dynamic ride.
At this pricing, the MG S5 is poised to make a strong impact in the market, capturing attention from both EV enthusiasts and mainstream buyers looking for an exciting yet practical electric SUV.
