Hyundai Motor India unveiled the name of the three-row iteration of the Hyundai Creta, the Alcazar, a seven-seater SUV, last month. It is expected to be Hyundai Motor India's entry into the country's 7-seater SUV segment, and it is set to make its global public debut on April 6, 2021. The Alcazar will essentially be Hyundai's first three-row SUV in a very long time. It will ensure Hyundai's entrance into the mid-size three-row SUV market, which has recently been increasingly exciting with models such as the Tata Safari, MG Hector Plus, XUV500, and VW Tiguan Allspace.
The Alcazar will be available with the same engine choices as the Hyundai Creta, most likely in the same state of tuning. The SUV would be available with two petrol engines and one diesel engine. The 1.4-litre turbocharged petrol engine produces 138 bhp and 242 Nm and comes standard with a seven-speed DCT. The 1.5-litre petrol engine, on the other hand, produces 113 bhp and 144 Nm and is available with either a manual gearbox or an IVT automatic transmission. The 1.5-litre diesel engine gives 113 bhp and 250 Nm of torque. This engine is paired with a manual transmission and can also choose a six-speed automatic transmission too.
Alcazar may be fitted with ADAS technology, also known as Hyundai Smart Sense in other countries. We expect Hyundai Smart Sense features such as forward collision assist, which includes automatic emergency braking technology, blind spot collision avoidance assist, driver focus alarm, automatic emergency braking while turning, and rear cross-traffic monitor with extra handier driver-oriented features such as smart cruise control, highway driving assist, and lane departure alert.
