The BYD Atto 3 electric SUV has achieved a significant milestone, with total global sales exceeding 1 million units.
Initially launched in China on February 19, 2022, under the name Yuan Plus, the vehicle reached this benchmark in just under four years—specifically, in 3 years and 9 months. Positioned as a global model, the Atto 3 is available in approximately 110 countries. In its domestic market, China, the SUV is sold as the Yuan Plus.
Following its launch, the Yuan Plus saw rapid success—selling 300,000 units within its first 14 months. An additional 200,000 units were sold over the next six months. BYD then needed another 25 months to push sales past the one-million mark. To support this growth, the company introduced the model in dozens of international markets under the Atto 3 nameplate.
In total, BYD took 1,391 days to deliver one million Atto 3 units worldwide. This translates to an average of 30 vehicles sold per hour—equivalent to 719 units daily, 5,032 units weekly, and roughly 20,129 units per month.
In Nepal, the BYD Atto 3 is offered in two variants. The Advanced model is priced at NPR 56.90 lakh, while the Superior version is available for NPR 67.80 lakh.
Customers can choose between two battery options: a 49.92 kWh unit offering a WLTC range of 345 km, and a larger 60.48 kWh pack with a range of 420 km.
Both variants are powered by a 100 kW motor producing 310 Nm of torque. Each feature BYD’s signature ultra-safe Blade Battery, capable of charging from 0 to 80% in just 50 minutes.
