Bajaj has trademarked the 'Caliber' nameplate, indicating that it might be launched in the Indian market in the future. And, the Caliber could be a 125cc commuter. Because Bajaj has two commuter ranges in its model lineup - the CT and the Platina, it would be feasible for Bajaj to launch a new 125cc commuter.Originally launched in the late 90s and discontinued in 2006, the Kawasaki Bajaj Caliber 115 was a very successful motorcycle. The 'Hoodibaba' bike had a 9.5hp 111.6cc engine that was good enough for pushing the bike to a top speed of 102 kmph.In November last year, TVS had trademarked the name Fiero 125 hinting at the comeback of its much-admired motorcycle. Although the Bajaj Caliber trademark states the nameplate can be used for 2-wheelers and electric vehicles, it is unlikely that the name will be used for an electric two-wheeler.
