BAIC BJ30e Hybrid SUV Launched in Nepal at Rs 1.19 Crore; Price, Range and Features

BAIC BJ30e has been launched in Nepal during the NAIMA Nepal Mobility Expo 2026 at a price of Rs 1.19 Crore, bringing a rugged lifestyle hybrid SUV with four-wheel drive, 1.5-litre petrol-hybrid powertrain and adventure-focused design to the Nepalese market.

The BJ30e is introduced by Laxmi Motorhub, under Laxmi Group, marking BAIC’s entry into Nepal’s passenger vehicle market.

The BJ30e is positioned as a versatile hybrid SUV that combines off-road-inspired styling with electrified powertrain technology. It is designed to cater to buyers looking for a vehicle that can handle everyday urban driving while also offering greater capability for weekend trips and outdoor adventures.

The SUV measures 4,730 mm in length, 1,910 mm in width and 1,790 mm in height, with a 2,820 mm wheelbase. It offers 215 mm of ground clearance and has a kerb weight of 1,770 kg, while the fuel tank has a capacity of 51 litres.

Power comes from a 1.5-litre petrol engine with a displacement of 1,498 cc. The engine produces a maximum output of 116 kW and 235 Nm of torque, while the hybrid system adds electric motors to provide additional power and four-wheel-drive capability.

The front electric motor produces 130 kW and 315 Nm, while the rear motor delivers 55 kW and 135 Nm. The system is paired with a 2DHT transmission and sends power to all four wheels.

The BJ30e rides on 19-inch alloy wheels, complementing its rugged SUV styling and relatively high ground clearance. Its four-wheel-drive system is designed to provide additional traction when driving over rougher surfaces and during outdoor adventures.

Practicality is also a key focus of the BJ30e. With the rear seats folded, the cargo area extends to 1,902 mm, providing additional space for camping equipment, luggage and other outdoor gear. The standard roof rack can support loads of up to 300 kg, allowing owners to carry additional equipment or rooftop camping accessories.

Inside, the BJ30e combines a modern cabin layout with adventure-oriented practicality. The dashboard features a 10.25-inch fully digital instrument cluster alongside a large 14.6-inch floating infotainment display powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 automotive chipset.

The interior follows a clean horizontal dashboard design, with an aircraft-inspired electronic gear selector and a crystal-textured drive mode controller adding a distinctive touch to the cabin. The overall layout keeps the controls minimalist while maintaining a technology-focused appearance.

The SUV also gets a range of convenience features, including keyless entry, remote key access, one-button power windows with anti-pinch protection, wireless charging, one-button start and a power tailgate with smart anti-pinch functionality. Other equipment includes rain-sensing wipers, front and rear wipers, electrically adjustable and heated outside mirrors, automatic mirror folding and an auto-dimming rear-view mirror.

The cabin features dual-zone automatic air conditioning, second-row air vents, air-quality management and PM2.5 monitoring. It also gets anion purification, a heating and cooling function for the centre armrest box and air-conditioning pre-ventilation.

The BJ30e gets a comprehensive safety package with Intelligent Adaptive Cruise Control, lane keeping and lane-change assist, blind-spot detection, Traffic Jam Assist, front and rear collision warning, automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, and rear cross-traffic alert and braking. It also features a panoramic parking camera and front and rear parking sensors.

Safety equipment includes front, side and curtain airbags, seatbelt pretensioners, ISOFIX, ABS with EBD, ESC, TCS, anti-rollover control, tyre-pressure monitoring and hill-hold control, along with automatic door locking and collision unlocking.

With its rugged styling, 215 mm ground clearance, four-wheel-drive hybrid powertrain and technology-focused interior, the BAIC BJ30e brings a different proposition to Nepal’s growing SUV market, combining everyday practicality with the capability and character expected from an adventure-oriented vehicle.
